A community of its own where one can live, work and play, the Aurora Sentral development prides itself on being a cleverly planned community concept within a pristine location in Iskandar Puteri, Johor. Within reach of international schools, hospitals, malls, and the Johor-Singapore causeway, the property is sure to be a sought after address.

Phase 1 started with the development of 464 double-storey resort link villas. ECCO Steel supplied reinforcement steel wire mesh for the reinforcement of concrete drains built by Hwa Hin.

Laying a strong foundation

In the 1st quarter of 2021, a sudden surge in global steel prices resulted in steel prices that far exceeded Hwa Hin’s tender price submitted for the project. This made keeping to the original budget a challenge, with unexpected losses potentially arising from volatility in steel price prices.

Another issue unique to construction during the Covid-19 pandemic is a shortage on labour given the quarantine and social distancing measures put in place.

To assist, ECCO Steel supplied reinforcement steel wire mesh at a highly competitive price, that is, at a fixed rate for the entirety of the project. This enabled Hwa Hin to keep to its material cost budgeting despite the volatile steel prices.

ECCO Steel was also quick to adapt its manufacturing timelines to deliver in accordance to Hwa Hin’s schedule for them to maximise on the labour available, ensuring that the project completion timelines could be met.
